The Spuort (dialectal form meaning a supportico) of Origins in San Donato Val di Comino is a unique historical and cultural attraction. The alleyway below, with its well-preserved wooden beams, provides a charming atmosphere for visitors.
Beneath the supportico are paintings depicting the founding history of this ancient town. The triptych, created by local artist Luciano Tocci, illustrates the early medieval origins of the town, from the primitive "ecclesia" to the time of the counts of Aquino.
Above the images, we find an image of the patron saint, St. Donatus of Arezzo, who was a Bishop and Martyr during the first Christian persecutions in the 4th century.
This covered passageway was carefully restored in 1998, offering visitors a chance to discover the town's ancient history.
