The Forca d'Acero Pass, located at an altitude of about 1538 meters, is an important connection point between the regions of Lazio and Abruzzo. State road 509 connects this mountain pass with the municipalities of Opi and Pescasseroli, located in the heart of Abruzzo, and with the Comino Valley to the south.
